Beale Air Force Base
Beale Air Force Base (AFB) is located in Yuba County about fifty miles North of Sacramento in Northern California, near Marysville and Yuba City. Beale AFB is home of the 9th Reconnaissance Wing. The mission is "9th Reconnaissance Wing professionals providing America the world’s finest high-altitude reconnaissance... anytime, anywhere. There are six (6) Military Family Housing communities at Beale Air Force Base including: Lakeview Circle, West Beale Heights, Gold Country, Wheatland Townhomes, East Beale Heights, and Mountain View.
Allied was awarded a three-year $45 million IDIQ contract (W91238-10-R-0023), with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Sacramento District). The first two task orders (-001 and -002) totaling $10.1 million provide for the renovation of 130 military family homes in the Mountain View housing area at Beale Air Force Base, California. The two-phase project includes 64 homes renovated using funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The second phase is renovating 66 following completion of the first phase.
Allied will perform mold remediation and abatement during the two phase process. The project will include the furnishing of all materials, labor and transportation necessary to comply with mold remediation and reset requirements. The scope includes a component to locate and correct the source of moisture penetration into the housing units and prevent a reoccurrence of mold contamination. Allied will remove mold and each home will be cleared by a Certified Industrial Hygienist. Allied will then replace sheetrock, seal concrete foundations and exterior stucco, remove, clean, test and reinstall water heaters and air handler, replace thermal insulation in formerly molded areas, replace flooring with new porcelain tile, install new energy efficient windows, install new bathrooms tub surrounds and new bathroom cabinets and fixtures, install new exterior doors and brick mold, apply new interior and exterior paint, and install new French drains and planter areas around the homes. Allied is performing this work in accordance with a Quality Control (QC) plan to ensure remediation and reset services are performed in accordance with commonly accepted commercial practices and procedures, manufactures’ recommendations, and applicable federal, state and local rules, building codes and regulations. Allied also follows safe work practices in accordance with our Site Specific Health & Safety Plan (SHSO), in accordance with the Army Corps Safety and Health Requirements Manual, Engineering Manual (EM) 385-1-1.
